Wholesale price

Last reviewed · June 2026

Wholesale price. The price diamond dealers pay each other in the trade — the level at which most resale offers are anchored. Wholesale prices are roughly 30–50% below retail and are tracked through the Rapaport Price List and dealer networks.

Resale buyers price your stone close to wholesale, not close to retail, because they need to resell it at a profit into the same trade network they buy from.

Knowing that a $10,000 retail engagement ring corresponds to roughly $3,500–$5,000 wholesale reframes every resale offer you will receive.
